I'm so, so sorry to hear about Dick. My love, thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Fr. Dick gave us our retreat before first vows.
He prepared our group so well giving us a love for our vocation and helping us know about Jesus and the Great Love he has for us.
This was delivered with eloquence and humor.
He often kept us laughing!!

Warm memories of the man who listened, cared and was always there for me. I was suffering a lot of turmoil and he took the time to walk me through this dilemma as priest and as my friend. Enjoyed his homilies and remember his signing talent. God bless his family and I know he IS in good hands

I am sad to hear of Fr. Basso's passing. He was our parish priest here in the Longview,Washington area in the early 80's. He was a very nice man and a great priest. Very approachable and easy to talk to. I am happy for all of you that he was able to spend his last days with his beloved family and in Michigan. I had not seen Fr. Basso in a long while but he made a lasting impression. Peace to all of you.

Father Basso did such a wonderful retreat for the Sisters of St. Joseph several years ago. Thank you father Basso for your inspiring words and being such a friend for the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace in Bellevue.

I loved Fr. Basso, as did my whole family. He served as pastor in my town church, and was the officiant at my cousin's wedding, as well as my own. He was a true friend, and I already miss him. Peace to you all.

When my family was having an extra hard time, while Father Basso was in Enumclaw, WA, he took extra measures to help us out. My children loved him, too & cried when he left Sacred Heart. When I heard of his passing at Mass this morning, I cried, again, but they were happy tears for having been blessed with some part of my life having been blessed by his. Thank you so much for sharing such a wonderful member of your family with so many of ours.

I had the privilege of serving with Dick at St. Rose Church in Longview. He was a treasured colleague and a well-loved pastor. I will always remember his welcoming nature, wonderful sense of humor . . . and great home cooking! Thank you for everything, my friend.

Dick was a boss, mentor, colleague, and dear friend. A theologically trained layperson in the late 1980's, I was hired by Dick to be the pastoral associate in a parish in Enumclaw, WA. Ever the envelope pusher, Dick insisted I preach at all the Masses every third Sunday. Dick was such a fine orator and fabulous preacher that my goal was to preach well enough that the assembly didn't start chanting "We want Dick! We want Dick" which would have
