Robin Rae Ivens, age 57, of Hastings, MI passed away unexpectedly on March 24, 2022. Robin was born in Battle Creek on November 16, 1964, the daughter of Scott and Judy (Long) Orr and graduated from Battle Creek Central High School.
She is survived by her two children, Bill (Ashley) Orr, Abby (Brenden Vaden) Ivens, her sisters Rhona (Jerry Lynch) Moody and Renee (Jerry) Tomky, Long time friend George Allen. Her four grandchildren, Remy, Jaxson, Raeleigh, Rowan and grand baby #5 on the way. Her niece and travel companion, Tori (Ryan) Townsend and many other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Scott and Judy Orr.
Robin was a long-time employee of Aspen Dental and when she wasn't traveling for work, she spent her time with her kids and grandchildren. Robin will always be remembered for her "say yes" days, her stories she shared while traveling, her slight addiction to all things yarn and knitting, her wonderful sense of humor and infectious smile. When she wasn't on the road, she was knitting or spending time with her grandkids which she always referred to as her bosses.
A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date, but any donations in her honor can be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements by Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek. Personal messages for the family may be placed at www.farleyestesdowdle.com.
Robin was one of the most incredible & wonderful persons I have ever known.

Our paths always seemed to cross in ways that were more than coincidence -- more like the Universe had planned it. A High School sweetheart who remained one of my best friends throughout our adult years. Our paths always seemed to cross in ways that were more than coincidence -- more like the Universe had planned it. Whether it was during our HS years, prior to my leaving for the USAF, during my short coaching career, when I worked as a Personal Trainer, during my career as a PA-C and even during my recent serious health scare, Robin was there.
This World was SO MUCH better with her in it -- as was my Life and those of EVERYONE who knew her.
Rob, I will miss you so very much and will Love you forever.....I will live everyday trying to live up to the beliefs you had in me...I know you will be watching & guiding me....Until we meet again...❤

Robin was a beautiful person. She always gave me her full attention and made me feel that our communication with one another mattered. She elevated my mood and brought happiness to me whenever I heard from her or whenever I reached out to her. I will always remember her for how she made me feel and how she touched everyone around her. She had the uncanny ability to improve the mood around her. I will miss her.

Beyond being a co worker, Robin was a dear and treasured friend. Always there in your darkest times, and in your brightest. Always with a smile and a rock solid piece of advice. Kind, compassionate, able to connect with others like noone else I know.

I will treasure our memories....house hunting in Syracuse with my sleeping Gavin in the back seat, you playing video games in the basement with the kids and not doing great but Gavin saying "You're doing great, Miss Robin, try again", shooting Ninja Grannys BB gun from the porch on Easter, the hot sauce guy LOL (he might have gotten mad), our work trips where we got to have equal amounts of work and fun, so so many late night conversations when working toward a meeting deadline, and ohhhhhh the stories about the trainees....really noone can tell a story better than you.
I love you, I miss you, I treasure the time we had together. You were truly one of a kind. Rest in peace, my dear friend.

Dear Doctors and Teams:
I'm reaching out with sad news today.
Robin Ivens, a long-time member of the Aspen Dental team, died unexpectedly overnight at her Hastings, Michigan home.
For those of you who were fortunate enough to have known her, Robin demonstrated every day what being an Anything Person was all about.
She joined the organization in 2008 as an OM in Battle Creek, MI and later served as an Operations Trainer, Senior Training Manager and RM in Eastern, MI before moving into her current role in 2015 as the organization's first Specialty Onboarding Manager.
I asked two members of the team who worked closely with Robin to offer their thoughts:
From Lenore Jaquin, VP-L&D: Robin was one of a kind. She led with heart, and was one of the most compassionate people I have met. She had an uncanny ability to connect with people instantly, and I've always admired that about her. Her work on the L&D team took us from a group of trainers to a group of leaders. She led the team through multiple content rewrites, always evaluating and innovating to ensure our learners had the best experience they could have. There wasn't a life that Robin touched that wasn't impacted by her light.
From Jen Granbois, VP-Specialty Services: Robin was a true advocate for our team of Specialists, someone who was totally invested in their success. I could list all of her accomplishments, but honestly her impact as a person and friend is far greater.
