Condolence & Memory Journal

Katie was a wonderful lady. She did a lot of nice things for my childhood when a family member was married to one of her relatives.

Sad to read about the passing of Katie in the Shopper News. I worked for Katie when she was a floor lady and have many, many happy memories of her. My Aunt Dorothy Kajcienski considered Katie her best friend as they worked together many years at Kellogg's and also attended the one-room school house when they were young.
Katie shared with me her Texas sheet cake and Rainbow jello receipes. Whenever I make them. I get compliments on how wonderful they are .

After I got pregnant with my third child, I was going to quit Kellogg's but my husband got cancer and Katie and Dorothy advised me to not quit and keep my job which I did. I am forever grateful for this advice as everything worked out fine and I am now enjoying a great retirement with insurance benefits and pension.

The 50th wedding anniversary her family gave for her and Wendell was one of the best I have ever attended.

Katie was one classy lady (I always loved all the different eye glasses she wore) and she will always hold a special place in my heart.

Now, the two best friends are in heaven together . My sympathy to her family.

It is sad to hear of your mom's passing but I do know she struggled for a bit. There is great comfort in knowing that she is with your dad now.
What fun we had as kids growing up together. Your mom was a big part of that. Halbert Rd will never be the same.
