Dear JoAnn,

After ordering your flowers and running into people who just wanted to catch up, I had to tell them I lost my step-mother on Christmas day. After the,:" I am sorry." The question was asked, "Did you get along with her?" That made me pause, then smile to myself, remembering how you disliked the term step-mother, because we all agreed, you were so much more than a step-mother. I told these people so and went on to tell them, "She might of divorced my father 40 years ago, but she didn't divorce us kids. We were her kids. When I hear the word step-mother I think of it as a term of endearment." The people responded with, "What a beautiful story. I love hearing story's like that." As I was leaving, I wanted to call and tell you that story because you would of loved hearing it too. I love and miss you so much. I just want to hear you call me one more time. Chrissy

My father was the brother of JoAann's step father Chuck (he adored her). I spoke to JoAnn often and she liked to reminisce of the times she came to California with Chuck. RIP sweet lady, your sweet spirit will be missed.
