Tribute & Message From The Family

Jeffrey John "Jeff" Lovell of Hickory Corners, MI

Jeff, age 50, died Monday morning, January 27, 2020 at his residence.

Jeff, the son of Johnie L. and Judith K. (Summers) Lovell, was born in Battle Creek, MI on January 22, 1970. He was a 1988 graduate of Gull Lake High School and a 1994 graduate from Grand Valley State University with his Bachelor of Nursing Degree. After graduation, he was employed at Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo and then continued on as a traveling nurse which took him to South Carolina, West Virginia, Arizona and Portland, Oregon. Jeff was employed at Oregon Health & Science University Hospital until his return to Michigan.

Jeff was an avid fly fisherman and his favorite places where the Deschutes and the Metolius in Oregon with his beloved dog, Gracie, at his side. In Michigan, he loved the Augusta Creek across from his home in Hickory Corners. Jeff loved to be out-of-doors and spent time hiking at the Kellogg Forest and the Kellogg Bird Sanctuary with his trusty ski pole "Walking Stick."

Jeff is survived by his parents, Johnie & Judy Lovell of Hickory Corners, MI and a brother, Christopher Jason Lovell of Salt Lake City, UT. He loved his family especially his aunts, Karen Toole, Donna Fales and Ima Register. They helped him in his time of need. Jeff is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and uncles.

As per Jeff's wishes, there will be no visitation or service and cremation has taken place. Jeff loved animals and memorial contributions in his honor may be directed to your favorite animal rescue charity. The Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Richland Chapel (269-629-6022) is assisting Jeff's family.

Condolence & Memory Journal

I worked with Jeff at Bronson. He was new to nursing at the time but was compassionate and provided great care. I remember him leaving, going to see the country, taking his skills on the road! I'm sad to learn of his passing. May your memories bring comfort in the days ahead. RIP, Jeff!

Mr & Mrs Lovell
So sorry to hear of Jeff's passing. I first met Jeff while working at Bronson. He became a great friend. We then decided to become traveling nurses together. We did assignments in West Virginia & NC together. He became one of my best friends. Unfortunately I moved on with my traveling as he stayed in NC for a while longer. I lost contact with him which I have regretted. We tried to connect again but for some reason it never happened. Jeff was a great guy and a great friend. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. God Bless.

Deepest sympathy to the Lovell & Fales family.

Although I never met Jeff, over the years I've been blessed to hear about him and I know how deeply this loss is felt by those he held dear. He was loved beyond measure by his family, and that love formed the very light that surrounded him as it carried him to glory. God be with you all in the coming days.
