Tribute & Message From The Family
Gary L. "G-Bob" "Jake" Jacoby, age 69, of Bellevue tragically passed away unexpectedly on Thursday evening, February 6, 2020. Gary was born in Battle Creek on December 15, 1950, the son of Jay W. and Phyllis (Webber) Jacoby. Gary was a true "Jake of All Trades", but spent the majority of his life as an over the road truck driver, and in recent years, volunteering hundreds of hours at the American Legion Post #298 where he served whenever and wherever he was needed.
Gary married his "Princess", Colleen at the Family Altar Chapel in Battle Creek on July 10, 1982; she survives. He is also survived by his children, Gary J. "Chip" Jacoby, Dawn Williams and Scott Williams; a brother, David Jacoby; a sister, Sandy Baker; and several grandchildren, nieces & nephews. Gary was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jay W. Jacoby and Roger Jacoby.
Gary loved adventure and enjoyed riding Harley's, quads, snowmobiles, shooting pool, boating and building & racing RC Boats. Family and friends were everything to Gary and he truly loved spending time with his family and being a longtime member of the Sons of the American Legion Squadron #298 and the American Legion Riders Post #298. Gary truly had a servants heart and will truly be missed by all of his family, friends, and his karaoke & American Legion Family.
A celebration of Gary's life will be held 1:00 p.m., Sunday, February 16th at Gary's American Legion Post #298, 228 North 20th Street, Springfield, MI 49037 where a luncheon & time of visiting will immediately follow the service. I am so saddened by this tragic news. Gary and Colleen were so helpful and loving when I lost my sweet Brian suddenly, almost 5 years ago. My heart aches for Colleen as I know the void she's feeling. I pray for peace and comfort during this difficult time.

I have so many years of memories it's hard to pick a favorite but ones that made me smile every time were Gary with Tara, you could see the love they had for each other and his crazy gifts to Colleen were so fun, he put a lot of thought into those! I hope everyone can remember happier times with Gary and pray for healing.
