Marilyn E. Tupper, age 85, of Battle Creek passed away peacefully at home on Friday evening, April 3, 2020. She was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on July 24, 1934, the daughter of George and Helen (Frey) Dykstra. The family moved to Battle Creek when Marilyn was 3 years old and she graduated from St. Philip High School with the Class of 1952. Marilyn retired from the Y-Center as Membership Director in 1994 and had also worked for several years at Bell Telephone and the Black Vending Cafeteria at St. Philip.

Marilyn married the "Love of Her Life", George A. Tupper at St. Philip Catholic Church on May 31, 1958; he sadly preceded her in death on June 19, 2005. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Heidi Johnson; a grandson, Parker Harris; her parents; a sister, Dorothy Anderson; and a brother-in-law, Dick Tupper. Marilyn is survived by her children, Kelley Johnson, Theresa (Edward) Smith, and Gregory (Teresa) Tupper, all of Battle Creek; her grandchildren, Matt (Brittany), Eric (Abby), Zach (Chelsie), Heather (Brad), Megan (Kyle), Blake and Cole (Julia); her great-grandchildren, Emilia, Maxsen, Gavin, Braylen, Emmett, Rhett, and Brendan; a sister-in-law, Helen Tupper; and several nieces & nephews.

Marilyn was a member of St. Philip Catholic Church and the W.S.O. She enjoyed shopping, golfing, traveling, casino gaming, sitting at the beach and spending time with her family.

A Memorial Mass to celebrate Marilyn's life will be held later in the year when it is safe to gather again. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ascension at Home Hospice and/or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Arrangements by Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek. Personal messages for the family and/or favorite memories of Marilyn may be placed at www.farleyestesdowdle.com.

My sympathies to the family. I played golf with Marilyn (and her daughter Teresa) for many years at Binder Park Golf Course in the Thursday Night Ladies League. Marilyn was a good golfer and I always enjoyed talking with her. Peace & Blessings to you all.

To All:
We are so sorry about Mom, Grandma, Marilyn. She was the greatest. She was fun loving and a ball to be around! I enjoyed visiting her at work on Wednesday's. She was so proud of her family and told me all the time. She will be truly missed. May all your wonderful memories bring a smile to your face and peace to your heart.
