Condolence & Memory Journal

I met Esther about 16 years ago as a client at the Veterinary office where I worked. She had already started having medical issues and was on oxygen and unable to leave the house. I had a side business of pet sitting and grooming. This worked perfect for her that I could come to the house and keep her sweet Roxy looking pretty. I enjoyed my time chatting with Esther each time I would visit. I continued grooming for her next dog Gracie and also helped picking up prescriptions and other tasks that she was unable to do. I also helped with house cleaning and this continued after Gracie's passing. I will miss my talks with Esther, and her smile which she always had no matter how she felt that day. She always had such a positive attitude despite her medical problems. She loved her family, friends, and pets and spoke of them often. She always called me an angel but really I think she was our angel!

Esther, I will always remember you as a fun, loving, kind, unselfish cousin. I won't forget our Sabbath afternoons outings through Battle Creek's country roads. We would open the LeCar sunroof and you will stand and enjoy the breeze and sing with joy. I always felt your love for me. You were always happy, enjoying life. Even when you were not feeling well, you will put your best smile in your face. My dear cousin, rest in the Lord! We will see you soon ❤

As far back as I have the ability to remember Titi E has always been there for me. She loved me, she corrected me, she encouraged me and taught me the value of so many things in life that I now teach my children. No matter in how much pain she was in she always had a kind smile, a joke to say and the sweetest hugs. Such a sweet part of my life now rests but your legacy continues through all the people you shared your love and kindness with. Titi Esther was one of a kind and I thank God for putting her in my life! Until that day that we meet again!!

For the memory book....
There are so many memories that we have of our life in Puerto Rico near our neighbor, sister and friend Esther; that there would be no space to count them all. Among them we will never forget Fridays at sunset. Our neighborhood was filled with special music. They were chords of strings and keys played by skillful and talented hands. They were Esther's hands; that together with his voice the voices of her family joined in praises to the creator God! They were the Voices of a family of faith celebrating Shabbat.

That was the bond of blessing that the Holy Spirit used to reach our hearts and make us know the love of Jesus.
Today that legacy of faith remains ... through five generations that were born and raised in that neighborhood; the Lebron-Ocaña family, the Ríos-Quiñones family, and others we don't know. Thanks Esther! Your crown is full of stars!

We love you! Glotita, Damaris (Angelita)

On June 13, 1956 around 11:00 am I was in the living room of my house with my father, we were anxious waiting for the baby to be born. At that time it was common for babies to be born in the house, I was four and a half years old.
Around 11 in the morning, my father and I ran to the room where my mother was in the process of bringing my first brother to the world because we heard a sweet cry from a baby, my first brother had arrived in this world.
When we arrived at the door of the room, the midwife did not let us in; we had to continue in the room until the long-awaited moment arrived to meet my first sister, Esther. This scene has always been in a special frame in my mind and there will continue as long as I have life. Rest in peace brave warrior, see you soon, and always love you, Jose 'papo' Cruz (chachito).
