Mark Schenkelberger, 73 of Battle Creek passed peacefully at home on August 14, 2020.

He was born November 20, 1946 in Cleveland, Ohio the son of Frank and Midge (Perris) Schenkelberger. Mark grew up in Battle Creek, was a 1965 graduate of Lakeview High School and attended Ferris State University and Kellogg Community College. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy in Vietnam. Mark was employed in computer and insurance sales. After retiring, he has spent the last several years mowing greens at Gull Lake View Golf Courses.

Surviving are two sons, Chad M. (Sarah) Schenkelberger of Traverse City and David Scott (Gwendolyn Greer) Schenkelberger of Livonia; four granddaughters, Ellie, Natalie, Addison and Hannah Schenkelberger; sister, Donna (Al Nelson) Corey-Nelson of Rhinelander, WI and two nieces, Christy Luse, Jenny Corey-Heinrich and their family. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mark enjoyed golfing, hanging out with his friends and brewing beer together. He loved spending time with his family. He was a former Lakeview High School Diving Coach and played in a local band known as "Glass Shadow". Mark's favorite pastimes were golfing, family campfires and getting together with his friends on Friday nights. Mark will be remembered as a great man, loving father and close friend.

Due to the COVID-19 virus, a gathering will be held when it is safe for Mark's family and friends to be together and celebrate his life. Arrangements are by Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care. Personal messages for the family may be placed here at www.farleyestesdowdle.com.

I served in the Navy and shared a house in San Diego with a Mark Shenkelberger who was from Battle Creek. Sorry to hearhear of Mark's passing!

Hi, I graduated with Mark from Lakeview with him in 1965, not 1964! He was a proud member of our class! I and his classmates are very sorry for your loss!
