Anthony Arthur "Bruno" Sembarski, age 66, of Battle Creek, died Tuesday morning, June 27,2017 at home with his wife by his side. Anthony was born in Detroit, Michigan on July 17, 1950 to Bruno and Eleanor (Swierczynski) Sembarski.

Anthony is survived by his wife, June; his only daughter, Shelly (Nick); six brothers and sisters; countless nieces, nephews and grandchildren on his wife's side. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Shirley Warunkievwicz.

Anthony was a faithful servant of God, his country and multiple goodwill programs. Being a Vietnam veteran himself (serving 2 tours) he loved serving other veterans whether it be cooking for the masses, hosting bingo or just lending a caring ear with over 13 years of dedicated volunteering to the VA hospital of Battle Creek, MI. Anthony was also a member of the American Legion Post# 298, Deputy Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus as well as Faithful Navigator for Father Council #11114, including 2 times past for the Hastings Post. He also served the Elks Lodge of Battle Creek being named Trustee and belonged to the Augusta VFW.

Anthony was always known as a big teddy bear, his nieces and nephews often referred to him as "Unk" or "Bub". He was a devoted Chicago sports fan, humanitarian, husband, father, brother, uncle, grandparent and friend. This gentle giant was very loved by all and will be sorely missed. Rest in peace and be with God Anthony Arthur Sembarski.

A Parish Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at St. Philip Roman Catholic Church with a Mass of Christian Burial following at 10:30 am with Fr. Simon Chummar-Manjooran, Celebrant. Interment with full military honors will follow at 12:00 noon at Fr. Custer National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to the family.
