Betty Louise Crane, 94, of Burlington, Michigan died peacefully at her home with her family at her side on Wednesday, February 28, 2018.

She was born August 5, 1923 in Dowling, Michigan to Bessie Woodmansee. Betty grew up in Dowling, Michigan and was a 1941 graduate of Hastings High School. After high school she was employed at the S.S. Kresge Store in downtown Battle Creek and then for the Kellogg Company. She owned and operated Crane Grocery Store at 552 W. Columbia Avenue with her husband for 20 years from 1946 until 1966; when they closed the business and sold the building. For the next 18 years Betty was employed at Security National Bank (Now Comerica).

Betty married Charles C. Crane on April 4, 1942 in Defiance, Ohio. Sadly she was preceded in death by Chuck, her husband of 71 years on October 22, 2013. Surviving are four daughters, Carol (Bill) Brenner and Peggy Nofs, both of Burlington, Linda (Mike) Wilkey of Scotts, and Cynthia (Kevin) Hale of Richland; ten grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren and one great great-granddaughter. In addition to her husband, Betty was preceded in death by her mother, Bessie Morrow Moody; a half-brother, Oliver "Gib" Morrow and two half-sisters, Norma Roberts and Charlotte Walter.

Betty and Chuck enjoyed their memberships with several camping and motor home clubs, traveling in their motor home and wintering in Eufaula, Alabama. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting and golfing with Chuck and in several golf leagues. She loved cooking family dinners, spending time with her family and campouts on the farm. Betty was a member of the Jolly Bunco Club for 67+ years and a member of the Calhoun County Extension Club.

Friends will be received 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Sunday, March 4, 2018 at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care. The Funeral Service to celebrate Betty's life will be officiated by her son-in-law Retired Pastor Kevin Hale at the funeral home 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 5, 2018. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Battle Creek.
