Earl "Sparky" Austin Meier, III, 66, of Richland, Michigan, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2020 at his home. He was born in Kalamazoo on November 18, 1954 and moved to Gull Lake in 1962. He was a Graduate of Gull Lake High School and attended Kalamazoo Valley Community College. He was married to Brenda L. Adams on October 22 1994.
He worked as an electrician for many years, but his true calling was the fire service. Sparky proudly served the Richland Fire Department for 28 years. He was most known for his knowledge and expertise as an Engine Pump Operator and was frequently called by other departments to step in and assist.
He loved his camping family, nieces and nephews, his dogs, fishing, playing Santa and the occasional Budweiser.
He was preceded in death by his parents Earl Austin Meier II and Regina Rose Arva Meier, several special aunts and uncles, cousin Mark Meier and best friend Jeff Smit.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda, his brother James (Kris) Meier, brother-in-law Brian (Sue) Adams, his Aunt Shirley Sincler, his Uncle Ron Kohler, several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place and services will be scheduled at a later date. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions should be directed to the
Richland Fire Department, 7401 N. 32nd Street and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
