Evelyn Mae Schmuck, 93, of Battle Creek, passed away with family by her side Saturday, April 7, 2018. Evelyn was born April 22, 1924 in Beloit, WI to Langdon and Blanche Mae (Gower) White. She graduated from high school and then moved to Michigan where she worked at the defense plant in Augusta for many years. She also worked at the VA hospital in Fort Custer, where she married shortly after. Later in life she became a sales rep for World Book encyclopedias. One of her proud moments is when she was top sales person and won a trip to Jamaica.

Evelyn truly loved the outdoors and nature. She enjoyed gardening, working in her flower beds, canning, and animals of all kinds, but especially watching the birds that came to her feeder, and spending quality time with her family.

Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Faith E. Naesset; her son, Robert W. Schmock; grandchildren, Michael Naesset and Staci Vought and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Karen L. Schmuck and GayLaWynn Schmuck and her two brothers, Ray White and Wayne White.

A funeral service to celebrate Evelyn's life will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Central Christian Church off of Riverside Drive, in Battle Creek. Officiated by Rev. Gordon Pippin. A luncheon will be provided after the service. Arrangements by the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care. Personal messages for the family may be placed at www.farleyestesdowdle.com.
