Forrest G. "Jerry" Parsons, Jr. of Battle Creek, MI

Jerry, age 57, died unexpectedly after suffering an apparent heart attack on Sunday evening, October 13, 2019 at his residence.

Jerry, the son of Forrest G. Parsons, Sr. & Barbara L. Henderson, was born in Battle Creek on June 9, 1962; was a lifetime resident and a 1980 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School. He had been employed at the Y Center; Te-Khi Truck Stop; Denso for 18 years and was currently employed at Adient, Inc. (formerly Johnson Controls) of Battle Creek since the first of the year as a fork lift operator. Jerry was known to take his vacation time during the Battle Creek Field of Flight Air Show (Balloon Festival) to assist where needed and volunteered to help anywhere and anytime especially at the Cheff Therapeutic Riding Center of Augusta, MI and the American Red Cross, to name just a few. He was an avid Star Trek enthusiast and collector.

Jerry is survived by his father and step-mother, Forrest and Carol Parsons of Bellevue, MI; his mother, Barb Parsons of Battle Creek; brothers, Thomas D. (Tina) Parsons of Bellevue and Daniel S. (Angela) Parsons of Delton, MI; step-sisters, Tracey (Rod) Moskun of Bellevue and Marla (Larry) Harris of Clarksville, TN; step-brother, Herb (Carol) Dekorte of Carmichael, CA and many nieces & nephews. Jerry was preceded in death by all his grandparents and his step-sister, Holly Dekorte of Battle Creek.

Jerry's family will greet friends on Wednesday, October 23rd from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek. The Memorial Service to celebrate Jerry's life will be held on Thursday, October 24th at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with the Steve S. Olmstead, Pastor of the Pleasantview Family Church of Dowling, MI, officiating. Family and friends will continue Jerry's life celebration with a time of fellowship and a luncheon immediately following the service at the St. Thomas Episcopal Church Social Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jerry's honor may be directed to the American Red Cross, Cheff Therapeutic Riding Center, American Heart Association or the Battle Creek Community Foundation-Shop for a Battle Creek Cop.
