Frances E. "Fran" (Minges) Delmerico Isaac, 100 of Battle Creek, Michigan died peacefully at Glenn Arbor Hospice Residence on Monday, January 21, 2019.

Frances was born February 17, 1918, to Frank and Laura T. (Adams) Minges in Battle Creek Township (now Battle Creek). She was a 1935 graduate of Lakeview High School, received her Bachelor Degree in Music Education from Michigan State College (now MSU) in 1939 and has resided in Battle Creek most of her life. She began her teaching career in Fraser and Quincy, MI in the late 1930's. She taught for the Lakeview Schools at Prairieview Elementary until the mid-1940's. She resumed teaching at Harper Creek 1964-1973 and retired in 1980 from Battle Creek Public Schools, where she taught for seven years.

Frances was married June 16, 1946, to Capt. George G. Delmerico. During their years of marriage they lived in many different states as well as Japan and Germany. George was serving as a Major in the U.S. Army Military Intelligence and died May 6, 1958 while serving our country. Frances married Harold R. Isaac September 3, 1989. Harold preceded her in death December 21, 1998. She was also preceded by a brother, Dr. Philip A. Minges and a sister, Rachael (Kenneth) DeLonge of Essex, CT. . Surviving are two sons, Daniel A. Delmerico of Fowlerville, Bruce E. (Rita) de'Medici of Oak Park, IL, four grandchildren, Jaime deMedici, Tomas de'Medici, Amelia Delmerico, Kathleen Delmerico, four stepchildren, Philip (Candy) Isaac and Donna Isaac of Pittsburg, PA, Helen Isaac of Ashville, NC and Alan Isaac of Arden Hills, MN and one great-grandson, Luke A. Mills;

Frances was a member of the First Congregational Church (United Church of Christ) since 1937. For many years she was member of its choir, a former Hand Bell Director, President of the Church Council, Women's Fellowship, Southwest Association of Women's Fellowship and the Town Hall Board. She also served on several committees for the Michigan Conference of her church and was very active in UCC Women of Michigan and was honored nationally in 2001 as one of Michigan's Women of the Year. She was past president of the Battle Creek Morning Musical Club and a member of its chorus. Frances was a charter member of the Battle Creek Community Chorus, a former member of the Battle Creek Symphony, life member of Alpha Xi Delta Sorority, member of Sigma Alpha Iota Professional Music Fraternity, member and former local president of Delta Kappa Gamma Educational Sorority, for which she served on various state committees and was twice voted Delta Kappa Gamma Woman of the Year, for the local chapter. She was a life member of the Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel. She has been included in Who's Who of American Women. Frances loved her family and friends and always felt their needs were her most important concern. In her retirement, with the help of the Binda Foundation, Fran tutored Ryan, a Lakeview student with dyslexia that she dearly loved from 2006-2015, for over 545 hours. Ryan became an Eagle Scout and continued to make Fran proud of him. Her hobbies included golf, playing Bridge, traveling, gardening, music, and enjoyed participating in many local music groups.

Fran's family will receive friends 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 13, 2019 the hour prior to the memorial service for Fran. The service to celebrate Fran's life will be officiated by Pastor Thomas J. Ott 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 13, 2019 at the First Congregational Church.
