Franklyn Clare Lindauer of Battle Creek, MI

Franklyn, age 92, passed away on December 18, 2020 after a brief illness. He was born on March 21, 1928 to Clare L. and Ethel I. (Day) Lindauer in Battle Creek, MI and graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1947.

Franklyn served his country honorably in the Air National Guard until 1952. He worked for American Fire Apparatus, New York Air Brake and Kellogg Company. He retired from Kellogg's in 1990 after over 20 years.

Franklyn married the love of his life, Lucille A. (Bonke) Lindauer on April 25, 1953 and had 67 wonderful years with her.

He was a member of the Eagles Aerie # 299, American Legion Post # 298 and the Polish National Alliance (PNA). He loved hunting, target shooting, traveling, bowling and golf.

Franklyn was preceded in death by his wife on December 1st, Lucille; his parents; brother, Richard N. and sister-in-law, Ruth (Ploane) Lindauer; and daughter-in-law, Sharon L. Lindauer. Surviving are his children, Curtis Lindauer of Battle Creek, Karen (David) Geibig of Niles, Kathy Lindauer Thompson of Battle Creek, and Paul (Carol) Lindauer of Marshall; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The Graveside Service to celebrate Lucille's and Franklyn's lives will be held on Tuesday, December 29th at Noon at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens, Battle Creek. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Franklyn's honor may be directed to Habitat for Humanity. The Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek is assisting Lucille and Franklyn's family.
