Gerald E. "Gerry" Lacey Jr., age 60, of Richland, Michigan passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday evening, December 18, 2019. He was born in Jacksonville, Illinois on November 30, 1959, the loving son of Gerald E. and Norma J. (Berndt) Lacey and graduated from Jacksonville High School with the Class of 1977. Gerry has worked for Consumers Energy for more than 20 years and was a member of the UWUA Local #150.

Gerry married the "Love of His Life", Pamela A. "P.J." Smith in Franklin, Illinois on February 9, 1980; she survives. He is also survived by his mother, Norma Lacey of The Woodlands, Texas; his sister, Kathy Rosado of The Woodlands, Texas; his father & mother-in-law, Richard & Margaret Smith of Jacksonville, Illinois; two sisters-in-law, Julie (Bill) Kunzeman of Concord, Illinois and Nancy (Mike) McDevitt of Durand, Illinois; and several special nieces & nephews. Gerry was preceded in death by his father, Gerald E. Lacey.

Gerry was an avid Chicago Sports fan, especially the Bears, Blackhawks & Cubs. He was a true outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting, birdwatching, and working in the yard. Gerry was also an avid gardener, specializing in building and tending to raised gardens.

A celebration of Gerry's life will be held 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., Friday, December 27, 2019 at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Richland Chapel, 9170 East D. Avenue (M-89), Richland, MI 49083. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to the Shriners Hospitals for Children — St. Louis, 4400 Clayton Ave. St. Louis, MO 63110.
