Love Emblem

Henrietta F. (LaBreche) Crim, 88, of Battle Creek, Michigan passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, March 22, 2017.

She was born February 10, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan to Henry and Josephine (Nowicki) LaBreche. Henrietta graduated from St. Benedict High School in Detroit. She was employed briefly, married and spent her life as a dedicated, loving, wife and mother, caring for all of her family.

Henrietta married Kenneth "Ken" Crim, on August 2, 1948. Awaiting Henrietta at Heaven's Gates will be Ken, her loving husband of 64 years; her daughter, Michele Snow; her parents, Henry and Josephine; and sisters, Mildred Kopecky and Phyllis Balinski.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Michael (Jill) Crim, Jeffrey (Tracie) Crim, Tony Crim and Lisa Crim, all of Battle Creek; her grandchildren, Amy Wirth, Erin Crim, Andrew Snow, Laura (Derek) Doughty, Katelyn (Frank) Santos, Brandon (Michelle) Coplin and great-grandchildren, Taylor & Savannah Wirth and Carter Coplin, and Alice and Harriett Doughty; and a sister, Norine (Marshall) Doig; and nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.

By virtue of her husband Ken's U.S. Army career, they were able to make their home in Germany for several years. Henrietta was a member of St. Philip Catholic Church and a ladies prayer group. When she was able, Henrietta enjoyed sewing and needlepoint. She played cards at Burnham Brook Center with her lady friends. Henrietta's family meant everything to her and she loved spending time with and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered as the most loving and giving mother and grandmother.

Henrietta's family will receive friends the hour prior to services (12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m.) at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care; where memorial services to celebrate Henrietta's life will be officiated by Pastor Robert L. Zuhl 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 27, 2017. Committal and interment will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to the American Cancer Society.
