Jeffrey M. "Jeff" Lake, age 43, of Battle Creek, was taken from us unexpectedly on October 28th. He was born on October 29, 1976 to Terrie Gammons (Mulgrew) and Gordon Gray in Battle Creek. Jeff graduated from Lakeview High School and went on to receive his Master's Degree in Business.

Jeff married the "Love of His Life", Melanie Lake (Martens) in 2004 and they have three beautiful daughters. Jeff loved his girls more than anything and cherished the time spent with them. He was a simple man, who enjoyed fishing, hunting and being outdoors. Jeff loved to feed people and chances are if you were close to Jeff, he has grilled you a steak as big as your face.

Jeff is survived by his loving wife, Melanie; his daughters, Jaelynne, Kyla, and Alison; his parents, Terrie & Gary Gammons, Jeff & Wendy Martens, and Gordon Gray; his siblings; Jason (Mindy) Lake, Greg (Kim) Gammons, Matt (Abigail) Lake, James (Rachel) Gammons, Chris Gammons, Kelsie (Chris) Selva and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a lifetime of close friends. We will miss him greatly and cherish our memories forever. Jeff was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Nellie Thurman; his grandparents; James & Ellen Mulgrew, Ron & Betty Martens and David & Joyce DeShon.

Due to the current government regulations, the family will receive friends (limited to 40 masked visitors at a time) from 12:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, November 4th at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care. A private family service will follow and then friends are welcome to join the family for a luncheon at the Lux Café around 4:30pm. Friends who wish to contribute can do so by visiting the families GoFundMe page at https://gf.me/u/y6thtz. Personal messages for the family and/or favorite memories of Jeff may be placed at www.farleyestesdowdle.com.
