John F. Kandler, age 57, of Kalamazoo passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, April 7, 2022. He was born at Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo on May 15, 1964, the loving son of Frederick "Fred" A. and Beverly "Bev" A. (Adams) Kandler. John graduated from Comstock High School and furthered his education at KVCC. He owned & operated Specialty Blasting in Kalamazoo for many years. John enjoyed mowing his lawn, shooting guns, taking Roxie for walks, hanging out with friends and working in his barn.

John is survived by his beloved daughter, Krystle Kandler and her half-sister, Lauren Lomax, both of Kalamazoo; his father, Fred Kandler of Kalamazoo; his sister, Diane (Frank) Guarisco of Richland; and his cousins. He was sadly preceded in death by his mother, Bev Kandler on April 15, 2019.

The family will receive friends 12:00 to 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 14th at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Richland Chapel 9170 East D. Ave. (M-89), Richland where a memorial service to celebrate John's life will begin at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wings Home (c/o Wings of Hope Hospice) and/or the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission.
