Julie May James, age 67, of Springfield passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, January 23, 2021. She was born in Battle Creek on November 9, 1953, the daughter of Dale W. and Audrey Arlene (Klingaman) James and graduated from Lakeview High School. She was employed with the Calhoun Action Agency.
Julie loved working with children and served as a Foster Grandma in the early childhood special education classroom at Dudley Elementary for several years. She enjoyed making jewelry, cooking & watching TV, especially cooking shows, and spending time with her family.
Julie is survived by her sons, Jacob (Bobbi) VanWormer of Battle Creek and Cody Lillback of Springfield; and two grandchildren, Alexander & Lucas VanWormer of Battle Creek. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Due to current Covid-19 restrictions, cremation has taken place and a memorial service to celebrate Julie's life will be held later in the year when it is safe to gather again.
