Karen Jean (Lotts) Cody went to be with her Lord on Thursday, April 21, 2022.

Karen was born in Battle Creek on June 12, 1960 to William and Phyllis (Bruce) Lotts. She grew up on Sonoma Lake and attended Harper Creek High School. She was united in marriage to Steven Cody on September 19, 1996. She and her husband, Steve lived in Augusta for many years before moving back to Battle Creek. She enjoyed feeding the animals that passed through her yard and was a lover of all things purple. Karen worked as a pastor's wife and ordained minister. Faith was important to Karen, who was saved 25 years ago and was an integral part of Healing Wings Ministries. She devoted much of her time, love and care to her Church family.

Karen is survived by her husband, Steven Cody; son, Jason (Kathy) Butcher; grandchildren, Noah Fouch, Avery Fouch, Evan Butcher and Rainey Butcher; mother, Phyllis Lotts; sisters, Terri Sharpe and Linda Jaques; several nieces and nephews; and her dogs, Josie and Becky. She was preceded in death by her father and a brother, Bill Lotts.

A funeral service to celebrate Karen's life will be held at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home, Richland Chapel at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, with her family receiving friends for visitation at 1:00 p.m. Memorial donations in Karen's memory may be directed to Healing Wings Ministries (10135 Blake Blvd, Galesburg, MI 49053).
