Stained Glass Emblem

Kathleen M. (Pryer) "Katie" Weesner of Michigan Center, MI
Katie was 90 when she went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 24, 2017. She was born in Marshall on February 6, 1927, to LaVerne and Frances (Stewart) Pryer. Both preceded her in death. She had four brothers: Gray, Stewart, David, and Richard, all of whom preceded her in death. Katie married Melvin G. "Jerry" Weesner on August 3, 1946. Jerry preceded her in death following 50 years of marriage. Jerry and Katie had four children, all of whom survive: Gerald M. "Mike" (Brenda) Weesner of Knoxville, TN; Johnny L. (Cheryl) Weesner of Narragansett, RI; Richard L. (Kay) Weesner of Battle Creek, MI; and Debra K. (Greg) Gundy of Michigan Center, MI.

Katie had four children, twelve grandchildren, twwnty-nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Katie worked at Woolworth's in Jackson and, during the war, volunteered as a Candy Striper at the hospital. In her senior years, she enjoyed being an election poll worker for her district. She drove many around to doctor appointments and shopping trips. She loved to serve others.

Katie was a member of the Michigan Center Bible Church and the MCBC Bowling League. She enjoyed camping, riding bikes, snowmobiling, motorcycle trips, cooking, puzzles, and playing cards with the grandchildren. She was a wonderful cook and loved having the family together for meals. She rarely ate as she spent most of the time getting up from the table to get something for her family. She loved her grandchildren and spent hours playing Nintendo, teaching them, and giving them the love that will remain with them forever.

There will be a public memorial on September 11, 2017 at 10:00 AM at the Michigan Center Bible Church, 150 Broad St., Michigan Center, MI. The family is planning a private family time on October 28, 2017.
