Love Emblem

Laurene Ann "Lori" Wilson of Battle Creek, MI

Lori, age 57, passed away suddenly Thursday afternoon, July 27, 2017 at home.

Lori was born May 24, 1960 to Judy (Miller) and Lloyd Wilson, Sr. Lori graduated with the Marshall High School class of 1978, where she meet many of the friends she would have her entire life. She attended Kellogg Community College where she studied Accounting and Psychology. She managed the Clark station, worked at several factories and had many other jobs around Marshall throughout the years.

Lori was the life of the party in her younger years, and could be found stirring up trouble with her lifelong friends, Ellen and Martha. She was a fan of NASCAR, road trips and going to Cedar Point. She had a deep appreciation for music and enjoyed going to concerts, singing (even when she didn't know the words) and commandeering the radio of every vehicle she was a passenger in. She made an excellent concert buddy, and passed her love of music on to all of her daughters.

Lori never knew a stranger, only friends she hadn't met yet. She had a heart the size of one of her notorious lists, and those who knew her best know just how big those lists could be. She had an open door policy and had an affinity for taking in "strays" (both feline and human). Everyone was welcome to sit around her table and you never knew who you might see while visiting.

Lori leaves behind three heartbroken daughters, Jessica Wilson and Morgan Moore of Battle Creek and Kayleigh Wilson of Waukesha, WI. Also surviving is a sister, Linda, half-brothers, nieces, nephews and cousins. Lori was a proud, loving Grandmother to her two grandchildren, Kayden and Eden. She was known as "Ma" to many, but held a special place in her heart for her "honorary " kids- Bud, Nicole, Erikka, Nik, Jackie, Josh and Clayton. Special friends Tammy, Ernie, Randy, Roe and Thomas were also dear to her.

The Memorial Service to celebrate Lori's life will be held Saturday, September 9th at 3:00 p.m. at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, 105 Capital Ave. N.E. Battle Creek. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 2:00 pm until service time with family and friends. A "Round Table" celebration of her life will follow immediately after the service at 227 Hopkins Street, Battle Creek, MI 49017. If you've ever had a seat around Lori's table, please feel free to stop by and share a memory. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the family are appreciated.
