Lucile A. Hoffman, 95, of Augusta, died Friday, February 14, 2014 at Friendship Village in Kalamazoo. She was born August 5, 1918 to Lewis and Goldie (Buxton) McIntyre. She graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1938 and worked 22 years at the Brook Lodge for the UpJohn Company, retiring in 1979. She was a long time member at the Augusta Fellowship United Methodist Church and enjoyed craft work and traveling.
Lucile is survived by her 2 step-children, Marcea Schwartz of Augusta and Dalyn Hoffman of Augusta; five step grandchildren; six step great-grandchildren; two step great great-grandchildren and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Caryl Hoffman in 2003, a son-in-law, John Schwartz in 2001, a daughter-in-law, Nancy Hoffman in 2000 and a granddaughter, Vicki Howe in 1986.
Visitation will be Monday, February 17, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home, Augusta Chapel, where funeral services to celebrate Lucile's life will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 18, officiated by Rev. Jennifer J. Wheeler. Interment will be held privately at Cedar Creek Cemetery. Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the Augusta Fellowship United Methodist Church. Personal messages for the family may be placed at
