Marla Ann Miller, age 74, of Jackson, Michigan and formerly of Battle Creek, left this world for a better place on February 28, 2022, peacefully, after a brief illness.

Marla was born in Battle Creek on February 10, 1948, the only child of Glen D. and Dorothy M. Aldridge. She attended Springfield schools, graduating as class Valedictorian in 1966. Marla was a very proud graduate of Western Michigan University with a Master's Degree in guidance and counseling. Her 30+ year career was spent mainly working in the substance abuse field.

Marla was an avid "Backyard Bird Watcher". She faithfully fed the birds and tried to run off the squirrels!! She enjoyed shopping and perusing antiques stores and had an extensive Jadeite collection. Marla volunteered for the Energizing Education Program at Northwest Schools in Jackson, and loved her students and seeing the reading progress they made.

Marla was preceded in death by her parents and her longtime close friend, Cheryl Miller of Battle Creek. She is survived by her uncle, Ronald (Barbara) Aldridge of Troy, Alabama. Marla is also survived and dearly loved by many friends and neighbors whom she loved and considered her family.

At Marla's request, cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held 12:00 noon, Wednesday, March 23rd at the Beckley Cemetery 13390 S. Helmer Rd. (just south of I-94), Battle Creek.
