Patricia A. Stafford, 91, of Hastings, died May 7, 2013 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Pat was born November 14, 1921 in Battle Creek to Burt and Ruth (Exner) Case. She graduated from the Detroit Mercy College of Nursing and worked as a registered nurse for many years, retiring in 1987. Traveling was one the things she enjoyed after she retired, along with drawing, sewing and gardening. But most of all she loved spending time with her family. She had a quiet strength about her and was a tremendous caretaker, providing for many family members throughout the years. Her strong faith saw her through many hard times in her life.

Pat is survived by her two children, Christopher (Emily) Stafford of Hastings and Cindy (Bill) Crane of Union City; two brothers, William Case of Decatur, IL and Thomas Case of Galesburg; a sister, Cara Milks of Kalamazoo; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. On March 22, 1947, Pat married her loving husband Forrest H. Stafford. Forrest died suddenly in July 1965. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a son, Forrest Michael Stafford, a daughter, Beverly Jean Stave, and two sisters.

Funeral services to celebrate Patricia's life will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 11, 2013 at the Farley-Estes and Dowdle Funeral Home, Augusta Chapel, officiated by Pastor Gary Newton. Visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m., until the start of the service. Interment will follow at Augusta Cemetery.
