Richard Allan "Rick" Ullrich, age 63, of Battle Creek passed away unexpectedly on Monday evening, March 19, 2018. He was born in Battle Creek on August 16, 1954, the son of Richard H. and Eleanor L. (Benner) Ullrich. Rick graduated from Lakeview High School and furthered his education at Western Michigan University. A very simple man, Rick was very dedicated to his family, his work & his clients at Lawson Printers, where he faithfully served for more than 40 years.

Rick is survived by his mother, Eleanor L. Ullrich of Battle Creek; his children, Meghanne Garland and Devon Ullrich, both of Battle Creek; his three grandchildren, Logan & Landen Garland, and Nicholas Ullrich; his sister, Deb (Dick) Hastings of Battle Creek; and several nieces & nephews. Rick was sadly preceded in death by his son, Nicholas "Nic" Ullrich in 2012; his father, Richard; and his sister, Cynthia Ullrich.

Rick truly enjoyed playing golf and golfing in the "19th Hole" Thursday night golf league at Marywood Country Club. He also enjoyed watching sports, was an avid Detroit Red Wings fan, and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

A memorial gathering to celebrate Rick's life will be held 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, March 25th at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek. In lieu of flowers, the family request that you please consider making donations to the First Tee of Battle Creek or the charity of your choice.
