Love Emblem

Robert Franklin "Bob" Adams, 78, a lifelong Battle Creek resident died peacefully on Sunday, November 11, 2018, with his wife at his side at Heartland Health Care, where Bob and the entire family received excellent and compassionate care.

Bob was born January 10, 1940 in Battle Creek the son of Arthur E. and Alice Ann (Skeba) Adams and cherished his relationship with his parents, three brothers and extended family. He was a member of the St Philip Catholic Central 1958 graduating class and has remained close to his classmates throughout their lives. Bob retired in 1996 as a packing mechanic from Ralston's, where he was employed for 34 years.

On October 21, 1961 at St. Philip Roman Catholic Church, Bob was united in marriage to the love of his life and best friend, Sandra Jean Cramer. Bob and Sandi shared a beautiful life together filled with laughter, love and family. They were two peas in a pod and had a joyful friendship throughout their 57 years together. Surviving are his wife, Sandi; son, Michael (Stephanie) Adams of Jacksonville, FL; two daughters, Kristin (Peter) Sullivan of Scottsdale, AZ, Kelli (Michael) Capra of Jacksonville, FL; five grandchildren, Robert, Kevin, Christian, Jack and Kate; two brothers, Bill (Joanne) Adams and Chuck (Cheryl) Adams all of Battle Creek; sister-in-law, Katherine Adams of Lexington, KY and several nieces and nephews and their families. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Arthur "Skip" Adams and niece, Carrie Adams.

Bob was a lifelong member of St. Philip Catholic Church and a member of St. Mary Of The Lakes Catholic Church in Eustis, FL, where they wintered the past 20 years. As a longtime member of Marywood Golf Club, Bob loved to golf and played with friends in several leagues for years. He enjoyed playing cards, especially Euchre. Not only did he love to fish, he was also gifted when it came time to filet them and was famous for his fish fry. He collected antique fishing lures and was always "on-the-hunt" for a great bargain at garage sales. He and Sandi loved to travel and adventured throughout the United States, Europe and recently explored Asia and Bali.

Bob was a joy to be with, he loved to talk with people and was always curious to learn about others. Bob was generous to a fault and always happiest when he was giving things to others, whether it was zucchini from his garden or some treasure he found along his journeys. He and Sandi touched a lot of lives with their kindness and generous spirits. Bob will be remembered as having an infectious positivity, enthusiasm for life and a genuinely kind and caring nature.

Friends will be received 4:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, where the Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Sunday.
