Heart Emblem

Sally Ann (Trowbridge) McCann, age 82, of Battle Creek, died peacefully surrounded by her family at the Glenn Arbor Hospice Residence on Tuesday evening, July 18, 2017. She was born June 30, 1935 in Battle Creek to Wm. Scott and Sonya (Andersen) Trowbridge. Sally grew up in Battle Creek, graduating from Lakeview High School in 1953. She attended the University of Michigan, which is where she met the "Love of Her Life", Charles K. "Chuck" McCann.

Sally and Chuck were united in marriage on December 17, 1955; he survives. She is also survived by their two children, Scott (Mariclare) McCann and Carrie (Ron) Maiorano; seven grandchildren, Adrienne (Steve) Appel, Stephanie (Adam) Reuscher, Melissa (Ryan) Trauger, Jordan McCann, Hailee (Jake) Leveto, Hilary Maiorano, and Hannah Maiorano; four great-grandchildren with one on the way, and her brother, George W. Trowbridge. Sally was preceded in death by her parents.

Sally was an avid crafter with most of her treasured craftings being sold at shows to benefit her two favorite charities, the Humane Society of South Central Michigan and All Species Kinship. She was a wonderful and thoughtful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Sally was an incredibly charitable and loving soul, especially where children and animals were concerned. When it came to her family, she put everyone's needs before her own. Sally will be missed by all who knew her.

A private family service to celebrate Sally's life has been held. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to All Species Kinship (ASK) or the Humane Society of South Central Michigan. Arrangements were by Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care. Personal messages for the family and/or favorite memories of Sally may be placed at
