Terry Lee "Yogi" Youmans, Sr., age 71, of Battle Creek passed away Sunday morning, December 26, 2021. He was born in Sparta, Wisconsin on August 7, 1950, the son of Arthur J. and Betty L. (Patterson) Youmans. Terry faithfully served his country as a member of the United States Navy and then the Air National Guard. He retired as a diesel mechanic with Star Trucking in 2012, and had previously worked for Waste Management and Gresley's Truck Center.

Terry married Janice Lee Suftin on December 29, 1973; she preceded him in death on June 1, 2011. He was also preceded in death by his parents and two granddaughters, Sonja Youmans and Carmen Rothwell. Terry is survived by his children, Terry (Tammara) Youmans, Jr. of Battle Creek MI, Kathi (Scott) Percival of Gilbert AZ, Dona (Will) Morgan of Apache Junction AZ, and David Youmans of Apache Junction AZ; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; his brothers & sisters, Linda (Lester) Williams, Jerry (Shirley) Youmans, Cindy (Gary) Keson, Sr., Barry (Tammy) Youmans; and several nieces & nephews.

Yogi was very proud of his military service and was an active member of the American Legion Post # 298 and the Post #298 American Legion Riders. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting & fishing, riding motorcycles, and was always willing to help fix stuff. Terry was a true Patriarch and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren & great-grandchildren, who were his true Pride & Joy.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., on Sunday, January 2, 2022 at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek. Funeral Services to celebrate his life will be held at 12:00 noon, Monday, January 3, 2022 at the funeral home. The service will be Livestreamed and may be viewed at https://vimeo.com/661794523. Interment with full military honors will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to the Post # 298 American Legion Riders and/or the American Cancer Society.
