Thurmon Bowker, 83, of Richland, died October 3, 2021 at his residence. Thurm was born May 8, 1938 in Howlandsburg, MI to Loyal and Corabelle (Machin) Bowker. He graduated from Richland High School in 1957. Shortly after high school, Thurm married the former Nancy Ann Buddemeier in 1958. Thurm started Cavalier Electric in Richland in 1978 and ran it for many years, retiring in 2003, and handed it off to his son, Ed.

Thurm is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; his son, Ed (Holly) Bowker; his daughter, Char (Steve Hilsabeck) Bowker; three grandchildren, Kate (Nick) Kotzea, Chelsea (Jimmy) Grimes and Edward (Madison McKay) Bowker; four great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Will and Joe Kotzea and Mason Grimes. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Alfred and Harry Bowker.

Thurm loved anything to do with the outdoors, including hunting, fishing, skeet shooting and golfing. He also enjoyed working on old cars and bowling. Thurm cherished his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 7th, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Richland Chapel, where a memorial service to celebrate Thurm's life will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery.
