Heart Emblem

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother & friend to all whose lives she touched, Virginia Moody on March 4, 2022. She passed peacefully at the age of 94. Virginia was born in Battle Creek on June 7, 1927 to John C. and Eugenia B. (Berles) Lampas and graduated from Battle Creek Central High School.

Virginia witnessed and participated in many incredible changes in her world from riveting on WWII bombers, playing with the Battle Creek Bells and chasing & observing the Hot Air Balloon Championships. She collected antiques, Battle Creek history and with her husband, Ralph Moody, collected Post Cereal memorabilia. She could always be seen working at the Longest Breakfast Table.

She met her loving husband of 64 years, Ralph, and worked at Post Cereals in Quality Control for 37 years and Kellogg's Cereal City after retirement. She was a loving mother to Melissa K. Moody of Kalamazoo and Patricia Kay Lazaroff of Denison, Texas; grandmother & great-grandmother to Kristin White (husband, Ben & daughter, Avery) and Karyn Pierce (husband, Justin & daughters, Ryleigh & Kynleigh) and aunt to several nephews. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Mark Byron Moody; brother, William Lampas; and sisters, Coola & Helen Lampas.

Virginia spent many years sewing & teaching 4-H'er's needlework. She enjoyed traveling in the U.S. & internationally & clowning. She never met a stranger and will be missed by her family & many friends, including Dave Farr.

A private interment will be held at Joy Union Cemetery. A Celebration of Virginia's Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Marshall Area Firefighter Ambulance Authority. Arrangements by Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek.
