William Ora Keifer, Jr., 83 of Battle Creek, Michigan died Friday, November 12, 2021 at Bronson Battle Creek.

Bill was born July 8, 1938 in Nappanee, Indiana to William Ora and Dorothy (Holderman) Keifer. He grew up in Nappanee and was a 1957 graduate of Nappanee High School. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was a man of all trades and could fix anything. Most of his life, he was employed for several companies including Schultz Homes, a manufactured home company and North American Products, a saw blade manufacturer. After moving to Battle Creek he was employed at The Battle Creek Family Y Center for eight years and was a greeter for 15 years at the Beckley Road Meijer Grocery Store.

William Ora Keifer, Jr. was united in marriage to Betty Jane Imel on May 8 1965. Surviving are Betty, his wife of 56 years; children, Michelle (Mitchell Fremion) Keifer of Angola, IN, Shannon (Christopher) Trimm of Battle Creek, Michael (Janaye) Keifer of Kalamazoo; seven grandchildren, Nicole Phillips, Dakota Trimm, Bryce Trimm, Mercedes Keifer, Cassidy Trimm, Brynn Keifer, June Keifer; one great-granddaughter, Aryana Bilbrey; siblings, Virgil (Marilyn) Keifer, Willadeen, Barbara, Tanya and numerous nieces, nephews cousins and their families. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Geraldine, Loretta, Betts, Kenny and Ernie.

Bill attended St. Philip Catholic Church for years. He enjoyed staying in shape, working out and exercising and was a member of the Battle Creek Family Y Center and Planet Fitness. He loved dancing and would dance to any music with a beat. He enjoyed taking his family to the UP, camping and just being outdoors. He enjoyed working in the yard, cutting the grass, taking care of his plants, the birds and wildlife. Bill loved talking to people and could always carry on a conversation.

Friends will be received 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care. A service to celebrate Bill's life will be held at the funeral home 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 23, 2021.
